Our brand ambassador Rimma was delighted to work with another stunning viscose crepe fabric, this time featuring the Isabel Marant Paisley print. The intricate pattern and bold black outlines made black thread the ideal choice for construction.
One of the qualities Rimma appreciates most about this fabric is its versatility and thoughtful design. Even the reverse side closely mirrors the face, ensuring a polished look when the fabric moves and the wrap panels shift naturally. After pre-washing and drying the fabric, it retained its beautiful quality, soft drape, lightweight feel, and vibrant appearance, making it a pleasure to sew and wear.
Sewing Pattern
Having long wanted to create a pair of Thai-style wrap pants, Rimma felt this vibrant print was perfectly suited for a statement garment. She selected the Eglantine and Zoe Wrap Pant pattern, a design known for its elegant wrap silhouette and simple construction.
The colors also complemented several handmade pieces already in her wardrobe, making this fabric a natural addition to her collection.
Pattern Size & Fit
Rimma created the pants in a size 42 at the waist, graded to a size 44 at the hips according to the pattern measurements. The wrap design creates a comfortable and adjustable fit, while the overlapping panels provide excellent coverage and effortless movement.
Sewing Tips & Construction
To ensure both durability and a refined finish, Rimma used a French seam for the main crotch seam and opted for a narrow hem to preserve the garment’s length. A matching label was added discreetly to the front panel, making it easy to identify while keeping the back smooth and uninterrupted.These thoughtful finishing details enhance both the functionality and longevity of the garment.
